Tülivere Oak

The Tülivere Oak grows near Allika village in Kuusalu between cattle paths and stone fences, standing beside a stream. This tree reaches 21 meters tall and measures 587 centimeters around its trunk.

A strong storm in 1891 created a large door-like opening in the oak trunk, roughly 3.5 meters in height and wide enough for two adults to fit inside. This dramatic change became the tree's most distinctive feature and remains visible today.

This oak served as a sacred gathering place where local people brought offerings of new grain and first harvest crops to seek blessings for their fields. Such practices show how deeply the community connected their survival and prosperity to this tree.

The tree is easy to find using standard map applications and sits in a quiet rural setting. Upon arrival, you will find a guest book near the tree where visitors can leave their names.

According to local tradition, couples facing relationship troubles would spend a night inside the oak's hollow cavity to resolve their conflicts. This unusual practice shows how people once believed in the healing power of this place.
