Vaikne Park, Public park in Veerenni, Estonia
Vaikne Park is a rectangular green space covering about one hectare with diagonal walking paths running through it. The grounds feature elm, linden, and maple trees, and include benches for sitting and a children's play area.
The park was created in the early 1930s on former meadowland under the direction of city gardener Hans Lepa. It was built during Tallinn's period of residential expansion in that era.
A bronze sculpture called 'Mother with Child' by Ernst Kirsi stands in the park and reflects Estonian artistic expression. This artwork was placed here in 1965 and remains a focal point that draws visitors' attention today.
The park is open year-round with no entrance fee required. You will find sheltered seating areas throughout and a play area designed for children.
The park contains a special variety of common hornbeam called Purpurea that has distinctive red leaves. This botanical feature is often overlooked by visitors but adds visual depth to the space throughout the seasons.
