Maarjamäe memorial field, Memorial park near Lasnamäe plateau, Estonia
The memorial field contains an immense 35-meter obelisk at its center, surrounded by dolomite walls and grass slopes along Tallinn Bay.
Built during the Soviet era, the memorial field opened in 1975 to commemorate individuals who lost their lives defending the Soviet Union.
The memorial includes bronze sculptures of seagulls and handprints, reflecting the artistic expressions of architects Allan Murdmaa and sculptor Matti Varik.
Located at Pirita tee 76c in Tallinn, the memorial field remains open throughout the year for visitors to explore the grounds.
The site integrates multiple layers of history, including a German World War II cemetery adjacent to the Soviet-era monuments.
