Baron Empain Palace, Palace in Egypt
The Baron Empain Palace is a distinctive and historic Indian-inspired mansion in Heliopolis, Cairo.
Built by Belgian industrialist Edouard Empain in 1911, the palace draws inspiration from the Hindu temples of Orissa and Angkor Wat.
The palace has been a source of many local legends related to spirituality and supernatural activities.
After years of neglect, the palace was restored and opened to the public in 2020.
Its revolving base allows it to move with the sun.
