Pi-Ramesses, Ancient city in Egypt
Pi-Ramesses was the new capital built by the Nineteenth Dynasty Pharaoh Ramesses II.
The city was abandoned during the 20th dynasty due to changes in the course of the Nile.
It was once a grand city with temples, palaces and military installations.
Today, its ruins are located near the modern village of Qantir.
Pi-Ramesses is often associated with the biblical Exodus.
