KV2, also known as the Tomb of Rameses IV, is a tomb situated in the Valley of the Kings.
The tomb was opened for the first time by Giovanni Belzoni on August 18, 1817.
It's significant for the vivid well preserved decorations and inscriptions depicting ancient Egyptian mythology.
For visitors, it’s one of the few tombs in the Valley of the Kings that is always open for public viewing.
Interestingly, KV2 has been a location for scientific studies regarding the effects of bacteria on the deterioration of historic sites.
