Nabq Reserve, Nature reserve in South Sinai, Egypt
The reserve spans 600 square kilometers, encompassing 440 square kilometers of land and 130 square kilometers of marine territory along the Gulf of Aqaba.
The Egyptian government established Nabq Reserve in 1992 to protect the biological diversity and natural ecosystems of the South Sinai region.
Local Bedouin communities maintain traditional practices within the reserve, offering visitors insights into their fishing methods and desert lifestyle.
Visitors can participate in guided snorkeling, bird watching, and mangrove exploration activities through designated entry points near Sharm El Sheikh.
The reserve contains the northernmost mangrove forest system in the Red Sea, with trees reaching heights of up to five meters.
