Basilica of Our Lady of the Pine Tree, Gothic church in Gothic Quarter, Spain
The basilica features a massive rose window measuring 10 meters in diameter at the main facade, making it the largest in Barcelona.
The construction of the current Gothic temple began in 1319, with the bell tower completed between 1460 and 1497 under master builder Bartomeu Mas.
The basilica houses Els Gegants del Pi, traditional giant figures from the 16th century that participate in Barcelona festivals throughout the year.
Located near La Rambla, the church opens daily from 9:00 to 13:00 and 17:00 to 20:30, with access to the museum spaces requiring a separate ticket.
The church treasury contains valuable metalwork pieces, including a Lignum Crucis relic from 1498 and an exceptional chalice decorated with enamels.
