Construction of this religious edifice started in 1600, establishing it as the earliest church built within the boundaries of Jerez de la Frontera.
The Provincial Museum of Carmelite Sacred Art, located inside the basilica, presents numerous religious artifacts and artworks from different periods.
Visitors can access the museum section from Thursday to Saturday between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with regular admission at 4 euros and reduced rates for locals.
The main altar features an ancient image of the Virgin Mary, brought by the original Carmelite order during the basilica's foundation.
