Batería de La Parajola

Batería de La Parajola is a coastal fortification located on Monte de Galeras at an elevation of about 165 meters, equipped with four steel cannons positioned to defend the shoreline. The installation served as a military defense structure near Cartagena.

The battery was built between 1928 and 1936 during Primo de Rivera's regime as part of coastal defense efforts. It represents the military build-up that occurred along Spain's southern coast during that period.

The fortification displays Egyptian Revival style in its ammunition storage facades and entrance pylons, reflecting how Spain's military architects of that era designed coastal defenses.
