Cala Llombards, Sandy beach in Santanyí, Spain

Cala Llombards is a sandy bay in Santanyí surrounded by tall limestone cliffs and Mediterranean pine trees on either side. The water runs clear and turquoise, creating a sheltered spot between the rocky walls.

This was originally a small fishing village before the coastal area gradually developed as a destination for visitors. The shift happened slowly, without significantly altering the natural character of the bay.

The name comes from the local language and refers to the shape of this coastal indentation. You can observe how the connection to the sea remains woven into the daily rhythm of those who live nearby.

A paved path leads down from the parking area to the sand, making access straightforward for most people. During warmer months you can rent loungers and umbrellas, and toilets plus a small beach bar are available.

The bay can be viewed from five different vantage points along the surrounding rocks, each offering views across the entire water. These elevated positions reveal unexpected perspectives on the shape and depth of the bay that are not visible from the sand below.
