The U-shaped spa complex consists of a ground floor and three upper levels, featuring a combination of 19th-century architecture and modernist interior design elements.
The spa establishment dates back to 1705, initially operating under the name Hostal de Banys in 1720 before expanding with north and west wings around 1880.
The structure, registered in the Inventory of Architectural Heritage of Catalonia, incorporates Art Nouveau and historicist architectural elements that reflect regional building traditions.
The building remains closed since 1998 due to safety concerns regarding the proximity to the high-traffic N-260 road, which separates the main structure from parking areas.
During the Spanish Civil War, the spa building served as a hospital for Republican soldiers, with inscriptions from that period still visible on some interior walls.
