The Humanejos archaeological site extends across several hectares with burial grounds and settlements from the Late Copper Age and Bell Beaker period. The location contains nine significant tombs with ceramics, metal objects, and organic remains dating to the third millennium BC.
Archaeological work began in 2006 and enabled the systematic study of multiple tombs with materials from the third millennium BC. This research revealed that the site served as a burial ground for local populations over an extended period.
The excavated tombs contain bell-shaped ceramics and burial practices that offer insight into social life in prehistoric times. These discoveries reveal how people honored their dead and what value they placed on craftsmanship and personal ornaments.
