The Gabriel García Márquez Library is a modern facility with six floors hosting reading and work areas distributed across multiple levels. The building features technology zones, children's spaces, and multipurpose rooms with wooden interiors.
The library opened in 2022 and bears the name of Colombian writer García Márquez, who lived in Barcelona from 1967 to 1975. The choice of name honors his connection to the city during a significant phase of his life.
The collection focuses on Latin American literature and preserves the archives of Spanish cartoonist Francisco Ibáñez. This reflects the connection to the writer who once lived in the city.
