Lappia Hall

Lappia Hall is a modern performance venue featuring a distinctive wavy roofline that echoes the natural landscape of Lapland. The interior contains three separate auditoriums designed for different types of performances and events.

Construction took place in multiple phases between 1961 and 1975, making it the final completed project of Finnish architect Alvar Aalto before his death. Its design reflects Aalto's philosophy of harmonizing modern structures with natural surroundings.

The building houses the Rovaniemi Theatre and hosts performances and cultural events throughout the year. It serves as a central meeting point for the city's artistic community.

The venue contains three halls of varying sizes that serve different types of events depending on the occasion. Visitors should expect that different entrances and areas may be in use depending on what is happening.

The structure features a metallic edge along its curved roof that catches morning light and bathes the exterior in shifting colors as evening falls. These lighting effects create different visual impressions throughout the day and night.
