Saint-Girons Church extends over 61 meters in length and reaches 31 meters in height, making it the largest Gothic church in Béarn.
Construction began on July 13, 1464, funded through voluntary taxes and contributions from local clergy and nobles over a 50-year building period.
The church capitals feature 16th-century sculptures depicting everyday life scenes and mythical creatures, reflecting medieval artistic expressions.
Adult admission costs 6 euros, while children between 6 and 16 years pay 3 euros, with guided tours available from April through September.
The oak framework resembles an upturned double ship hull, constructed without nails and requiring approximately one thousand oak trees.
