Ebersmunster Abbey, Benedictine abbey in Ebersmunster, France
The Saint Maurice Abbey Church displays Austrian Baroque architecture with green glazed tiles on its bulbous roofs and twin towers.
Founded in 667 by Saint Deodatus of Nevers, the monastery received support from Adalrich, Duke of Alsace, and underwent reconstruction in the 18th century.
The interior features painted vault decorations, elaborate stucco work, and a high altar adorned with a large crown by Jean-Leonard Meyer.
The church welcomes visitors daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during winter months and until 6:00 PM from June to October.
The Silbermann organ, built in 1730 and classified as a historical monument, remains a central element for musical performances within the abbey.
