Cordon des Druides, Megalithic stone row in Landéan, France

Cordon des Druides is a Neolithic stone alignment stretching around 250 meters through Landéan with roughly 23 large quartz blocks positioned along an ancient route. The stones vary in height, with the taller ones reaching over a meter, and they follow the natural contours of the land.

The stone alignment was built during the Neolithic period, long before Druids existed, demonstrating the ambition and skill of those early people. It forms part of a larger complex that reveals the organized societies these communities had developed.

The stone row served as a gathering place for community rituals and demonstrates how Neolithic people shaped their landscape. The arrangement still stands as it was built thousands of years ago, revealing the skills and beliefs of those early inhabitants.

The best time to explore is during clear weather since the stones spread across a large area and can be easy to miss. Sturdy footwear is recommended as the ground is uneven and the location sits within a forested area.

The stones follow a rise that climbs over 75 meters and then descends for around 170 meters, showing how the builders skillfully used the natural ground. This elevation pattern suggests the site was deliberately integrated into the landscape.
