Château de Villiers-le-Bâcle

The Louis XIII style château features a brick facade, slate roof, and stone masonry spread across three levels with 31 rooms covering 1,103 square meters.

Michel Lucas, an associate of King Louis XIII, constructed the château around 1650 on the ruins of the Presles manor house, which belonged to Françoise Lombard.

The Biver family documented daily life at the estate through glass plate photographs, showing agricultural activities and local celebrations during the Belle Époque period.

The château opens for summer tours and serves as a venue for private events, with additional structures including stables, a greenhouse, and an orangery.

The property encompasses 41 hectares, including 36 hectares of forest, positioned along the Saclay plateau and the slopes of the Mérantaise valley.
