The castle features four angular towers and arrow slits positioned on a hill at 340 meters elevation, providing views across the Caramy valley.

First documented as castrum de Vicinis in charters from the 1060s, the current castle structure was built at the beginning of the 16th century.

The castle hosts a summer music academy offering concerts and instrumental training courses within its restored halls.
