St. Pierre Church, Nancy, Neo-Gothic church in Nancy, France
The Saint Pierre Church extends 72 meters in length and reaches 25 meters under the vaults of its central nave with a stone-covered metal framework.
Construction of the church started in 1865 and finished in 1885, replacing an earlier structure from 1737 that served the expanding Saint-Pierre neighborhood.
Inside the church, tall arcades frame stained glass windows that portray saints and biblical scenes, while a Pietà by sculptor Ernest Bussière adorns the space.
The church stands at 98 Avenue de Lattre de Tassigny in the Nancy Sud district, near the central hospital of the city.
The church remains incomplete with one missing tower and unfinished portal sculptures, while its 1965 Haerpfer-Ermann organ enriches religious services.
