L'Ange volant

L'Ange volant is a two-level modernist residence in Garches featuring large windows and bright interior spaces throughout. The house contains a high-ceiling living room with marble floors, seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, and multiple living areas that open to a spacious garden with terrace.

Italian architect Gio Ponti designed this residence in 1927 for Tony Bouilhet, director of the Christofle silversmith company. The building emerged from the modernist movement of its era and reflects the artistic vision of a leading European designer.

The main hall features a blue and yellow trompe-l'oeil ceiling with small coats of arms representing future spouses. These decorative touches reflect the refined tastes and artistic ambitions of the original owners.

The house is accessible from the exterior, allowing visitors to explore the modernist design principles and garden layout. The open outdoor areas provide a clear view of how the interior and nature are connected.

A golden metal angel created by Christofle sits above the entrance door in a broken pediment, giving the house its distinctive name. This sculptural element connects the silversmith company's heritage directly to the building's architecture.
