Akeldama, Historic site in Jerusalem
Akeldama, also known as Field of Blood, is a place in Jerusalem associated with Judas Iscariot.
It's traditionally regarded as the place where Judas Iscariot hanged himself after betraying Jesus Christ.
The site is mentioned in the New Testament and has significant cultural importance in Christianity.
Today, it houses the Monastery of St. Onuphrius and a large burial ground.
Its name, Akeldama, translates to 'Field of Blood' in Aramaic.
