San Nicola Arcella

San Nicola Arcella is a coastal commune perched on a steep cliff at 110 meters elevation along the Tyrrhenian Sea. The settlement stretches along the shoreline with views across the Gulf of Policastro below.

The settlement grew as a coastal village and preserves a watchtower where American writer Francis Marion Crawford made his home in the late 1800s. This structure marks the place's connection to international artists and its past as a lookout point.
