Palazzo di città, Town hall and palace in Borgo Antico, Taranto, Italy
The building features a fortified structure with four corner towers and overlooks Piazza Castello with its neoclassical facade and central clock.
Built between 1864 and 1869 by architect Davide Conversano, the palace replaced the former Residenza del Capitano, home of the Spanish military governor.
The interior contains the Mirror Hall on the first floor and the Council Chamber on the second floor, connected by grand staircases.
Municipal offices operate from Vicolo Municipio 6, where citizens can access administrative services and attend public council meetings.
The Governor's Arch runs through the building, creating a passage that connects Piazza Castello to the ancient district of Borgo Antico.
