Villa La Magia

Villa La Magia is a Renaissance manor house in Quarrata with geometrically designed gardens containing a circular fountain surrounded by carefully maintained hedges and decorative plant arrangements. The main building houses multiple rooms with ornamental details and various exhibition areas that provide insights into the lives of wealthy families.

The building was originally built as a tower-house for the Panciatichi family in the 14th century. In 1583, Grand Duke Francesco I Medici acquired the estate and transformed it into a Renaissance villa with expanded gardens.

The villa displays frescoes commissioned by the Attavanti family, representing different artistic periods of Italian Renaissance and Baroque movements. These artworks spread across multiple rooms and reflect the taste of wealthy families.

The estate is accessible through guided tours that include access to the main building, gardens, and special exhibition areas. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes as exploring the outdoor areas and rooms involves walking.

The estate once featured an artificial lake designed by architect Bernardo Buontalenti specifically for hunting and fishing activities. This water feature served as a popular leisure destination for the owners and their guests.
