Necropolis of Mandra Antine

The necropolis contains four underground tombs carved into the trachytic rock hillside, positioned in a slanted alignment facing south-southeast.

The site dates back to the Late Neolithic period, as confirmed by archaeological studies conducted in 1961 by researcher Ercole Contu.

The third tomb features polychrome paintings depicting religious symbols connected to life cycles, with a central fireplace surrounded by concentric circles.

Visitors can reach the necropolis from Thiesi by taking SS131 bis toward Ittiri, then SP 50 for 5.4 kilometers until reaching a paved path to the parking area.

The first tomb displays a semicircular antechamber with carved features, including a base and two pilasters leading to the main chamber with funeral crypts.
