Piccolomini Library, Cathedral library in Italy
The Piccolomini Library is a visually stunning fresco decorated library located within the Siena Cathedral, Italy.
Founded in 1492 by Cardinal Francesco Todeschini Piccolomini who would later become Pope Pius III, it was intended to house the books and scripts of his uncle, Pope Pius II.
Its beautifully crafted frescoes tell the story of Pope Pius II's life, making it not just a library but also a historical monument.

It is perhaps best known for its richly decorated interior with frescoes painted by the famous Renaissance artist Bernardino di Betto, known as Pinturicchio.
