Abbazia della Santissima Trinità di Spineta

The monastery features a single nave church with wooden trusses, wide transept covered by barrel vaults, and three apses topped by lunettes.

Founded in 1085 by Willa, widow of Count Pepone Manenti, the monastery was initially managed by Vallombrosan monks before transferring to Cistercian control in 1627.

During medieval times, the monastery supported travelers on the Via Francigena route, providing shelter for pilgrims journeying toward Rome.

The monastery complex now operates as a venue for cultural gatherings and religious ceremonies following extensive architectural restoration work.

The church exterior displays carved animal figures, including a quadruped sculpture in the transept lunette and two relief animals on the limestone facade.
