Ponte di Varlungo

The Ponte di Varlungo stretches 375 meters across the Arno River with a main span of 127 meters and stands 18 meters above the water.

Construction of this steel and reinforced concrete bridge started in 1979, under the direction of architect Adriano Montemagni, and opened to traffic in 1981.

The bridge represents the evolution of Florence's infrastructure, adding a modern transport connection to a city known for its medieval and Renaissance structures.
