Santuario della Celletta

The Santuario della Celletta features an elliptical design with a marble altar and stands along the Via Nazionale connecting Argenta to Ravenna.

Construction of the sanctuary began in 1606 after a reported Marian apparition to Sigismonda Conti, whose husband experienced an unexplained recovery.

The sanctuary holds regular religious ceremonies and houses a fresco by Garofalo depicting Mary with Child, now preserved in the Civic Museum of Argenta.

Located at Via Nazionale 149, the sanctuary maintains regular visiting hours and welcomes visitors interested in religious architecture and local history.

The building remained intact during the 1624 earthquake that affected Argenta, leading to an annual pilgrimage tradition every March 19.
