Villa Il Riposo stands on Fattucchia hill between Ema and Grassina valleys, featuring round arches, massive pillars, and decorated loggias on its exterior.
The villa was built in the second half of the 16th century for Bernardo Vecchietti, a collector and patron connected to the Medici court.
Raffaello Borghini's 1584 publication 'Il Riposo' contains detailed discussions about art and descriptions of the villa and its surroundings.
The property maintains an Italian garden with geometric flowerbeds, box hedges, and citrus trees, complemented by Impruneta pottery throughout the grounds.
In 1935, a neo-medieval tower replaced the original pigeon house that was damaged during the 1895 earthquake, adding a new architectural element.
