Villa medicea di Buti

Villa Medicea di Buti is a Renaissance structure organized across four distinct levels: cellars, ground floor, first floor, and attics, all furnished with decorative details. The rooms display architectural features and ornaments throughout that shape the interior's character.

The building was constructed in the 16th century on the remains of a 9th-century fortress. It was originally part of a farm property under Medici administration before later transformation.

The name Villa Delizia comes from the frescoes commissioned in 1767 to decorate its rooms. Visitors can still see these artistic works displayed throughout the decorated halls today.

The property now functions as a venue for ceremonies, conferences, and events while being protected by Italian cultural authorities. Access and availability may vary depending on scheduled activities, so planning ahead is helpful.

The cellars contain a natural cave documented as early as 1619. Local tradition suggests this cave once connected secretly to the city of Pisa.
