Villa Casati

Villa Casati is a neoclassical residence in Muggio with an L-shaped layout spanning two stories and a columned front entrance. Inside, an elliptical hall with domed ceiling and Venetian mosaic floors opens onto grounds designed in English garden style with mature trees.

The Casati family purchased the land in the 17th century, and architect Leopoldo Pollack redesigned it around 1796 in neoclassical style. This transformation made it an example of contemporary design principles of that era.

The property has been carefully maintained through generations, with different families adding their own touches to its rooms and gardens over time. Visitors today can explore spaces that reflect this layered history of domestic use and social gatherings.

The building sits centrally on Piazza Giacomo Matteotti and now serves as a municipal headquarters with public spaces. Access is straightforward, and the surrounding area offers parking and nearby shops.
