Villa Casati, Neoclassical villa in Muggiò, Italy

Villa Casati features a prominent L-shaped structure with two floors, six Ionic columns supporting the main portico, and an elliptical hall topped by a lantern.

The Casati family acquired the property in the 17th century, and architect Leopoldo Pollack redesigned it in neoclassical style around 1796 for Count Agostino Casati.

Cardinal Carlo Borromeo selected Villa Casati as his residence during the pastoral visit of 1579, establishing its significance in regional religious history.

The villa, located at Piazza Giacomo Matteotti 1, functions as a municipal building since 1982 and houses the Pier Paolo Pasolini Cultural Center.

The central section includes an elliptical hall with dome vaults and Venetian mosaic flooring, surrounded by an English-style garden with original tree species.
