Batzenhäusl

Batzenhäusl is a restaurant and inn located in a traditional building in central Bolzano, featuring multiple dining rooms and regional cuisine. The property also provides seven double rooms, a junior suite with an infrared cabin, and one single room for guests.

The Kaltschmid family acquired the property in 1954 and has maintained ownership ever since. Fritz Kaltschmid took over operations in 1962 as a young man and shaped its development for decades.

Guests can taste South Tyrolean dishes prepared with recipes passed down through decades, using ingredients from the surrounding region. The restaurant's cooking style reflects how local people have eaten in this area for generations.

The location near public transportation and central attractions makes it easy to reach on foot or by bus. The traditional building has narrow staircases and historical features that visitors should be prepared for.

The inn maintains its own fish ponds to supply fresh seafood for its kitchen. From certain spots around the property, diners can see views across toward the surrounding mountains.
