Galleria d'Arte Moderna Paolo e Adele Giannoni
Galleria d'Arte Moderna Paolo e Adele Giannoni, Modern art museum in Novara, Italy.
The Galleria d'Arte Moderna is housed in a Novara building and displays around 260 artworks created between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The exhibition includes paintings and sculptures organized by thematic sections, presenting names such as Plinio Nomellini and Giovanni Fattori.
The museum opened in 2011 and is built on a collection assembled over many years by banker Alfredo Giannoni. The works eventually passed into the care of the city of Novara, where they found a permanent home for public display.
The collection gathers works by Italian artists from an era when painting and sculpture underwent significant transformation across the peninsula. These pieces show how regional artists engaged with broader movements while developing their own distinct approaches.
The museum sits on Via Fratelli Rosselli in an easy-to-reach location near the city center. Comfortable shoes are a good idea since you will spend time moving through multiple galleries to view the full collection.
Each month a special presentation showcases artworks from the storage areas that normally remain behind the scenes. This offers visitors a deeper look into the collection beyond what appears in the main galleries.
