Parco ittico Paradiso, Nature park and aquarium in Zelo Buon Persico, Italy
Parco ittico Paradiso is a nature park with fish channels near Milan where more than twenty freshwater species like carp, catfish, and sturgeon live in designed waterways. The grounds spread across multiple parallel channels running through a wooded area with thousands of trees.
The park grew from a reworked section of the Adda River in the 1980s, which was transformed into fish farming channels. This original purpose as a breeding facility still shapes how the site is organized.
The park teaches visitors about freshwater life and how fish live in natural water flows, with pathways that let you walk alongside the channels and observe them up close.
The grounds are easy to explore on foot with paths running alongside the fish channels and offering several viewing spots along the way. Visitors should wear good walking shoes and bring sun protection since the wooded area has both open and shaded sections.
The park includes specially built underwater observation windows where visitors can watch fish behavior from close range while standing above the channels. These submerged viewing points offer a rare look at how fish move and interact below the surface.
