Castello di Montemagno

Castello di Montemagno is a medieval fortress perched on a hillside in the Monferrato region of Piedmont. It features an irregular layout that follows the natural terrain, with thick defensive walls and internal structures that span multiple centuries.

First mentioned in 981, the fortress originally consisted of a central tower encircled by protective walls and a defensive moat. The structure underwent gradual transformations across the centuries as military needs and domestic comfort requirements evolved.
