Keisei-Takasago Station, Railway interchange station in Katsushika ward, Tokyo, Japan
Keisei-Takasago Station is a railway interchange in Tokyo connecting multiple rail lines with both ground-level and elevated platforms. It features four ground-level tracks at two island platforms and one elevated side track for the Kanamachi Line.
The station opened on November 3, 1912, as Magarikane and was renamed Takasago the following year. In 1931 it received its current name to reflect the connection with the larger railway company.
The name Takasago comes from a Japanese coastal town featured in traditional Noh theater and associated with wishes for long life. Passengers today use the wide escalators and clear signage that combines Japanese characters with Latin script.
The station offers accessible entrances and sits roughly thirteen kilometers from Keisei Ueno, where connections run to Narita Airport and central Tokyo. Crowds swell during rush hours, so visiting outside peak times makes movement easier.
The station holds a small area for handling bulky sports equipment, originally set up for travelers carrying gear related to horseback riding. This section sees little use today, but it shows the railway company's effort to respond to local community needs.
