Futagoyama stable, Sumo stable in Shibamata District, Tokyo, Japan
Futagoyama stable is a sumo training facility in Shibamata where athletes live and train together following traditional methods. The establishment belongs to the Dewanoumi group and operates from a dedicated location in eastern Tokyo.
The stable was founded in 2018 when former ozeki Miyabiyama separated from another stable and established operations in Shibamata. This creation was part of the reorganization of sumo training facilities in the region.
The stable maintains traditional sumo practices and shares training scenes through a YouTube channel with English subtitles, giving fans worldwide a window into the daily life of the wrestlers.
The facility is about 8 minutes on foot from Shibamata Station on the Keisei Kanamachi Line. The location in eastern Tokyo is easy to reach and offers good public transport connections.
In 2022, the facility celebrated a milestone when wrestler Roga, with Russian and Mongolian roots, advanced to the highest national division. This was the first promotion to such a level since the establishment opened.
