Sendai Civic Hall is a modern cultural center spanning seven floors, including two underground levels, that houses multiple performance spaces. The main concert hall seats approximately 1200 people, while a second hall accommodates around 500, each equipped for different types of presentations.

The building opened on November 3, 1973, becoming a major performance venue in Sendai's cultural landscape. It underwent rebranding in 2017 to reflect a new sponsorship partnership.

The facility maintains multiple performance spaces, rehearsal rooms, and exhibition areas, hosting classical concerts, operas, ballet performances, theater productions, and traditional Japanese arts.

The venue sits in Aoba Ward near Kotodai Park Station, making it convenient to reach by public transportation. Visiting during daytime hours lets you explore the surrounding Sakuragaoka Park area.

The building includes specialized areas for music, audiovisual activities, cooking classes, and traditional Japanese arts like tea ceremony. A special library holds books on stage design and acoustics that visitors can access.
