The venue opened its doors on November 3, 1973, and received its current name Talknet Hall Sendai in April 2017 through a rebranding initiative.

The facility maintains multiple performance spaces, rehearsal rooms, and exhibition areas, hosting classical concerts, operas, ballet performances, theater productions, and traditional Japanese arts.

Located in Aoba Ward near Kotodai Park Station, the venue operates from 9:00 to 21:30, with scheduled maintenance inspections occurring 26 times throughout the year.

The building includes specialized rooms for music, audio-visual activities, cooking, and Japanese traditional practices, plus a dedicated section lending books about stage design and acoustics.
