Nanko Park

Nanko Park is a large public space centered around a lake with a walking path circling its shore. Cherry trees line the area, and manicured gardens and a shrine are integrated throughout the grounds.

This site was founded in the early 1800s and was notable for opening access to the public across all social backgrounds. At that time, creating such an open space for everyone represented a significant shift in how public spaces were managed.
