The museum opened on September 7, 1989, to preserve and present the legacy of the Moniwa family, prominent feudal lords of the Matsuyama region.
The exhibition rooms contain collections of traditional items, historical documents, and a special section dedicated to the famous singer Frank Nagai.
The museum operates from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, remains closed on Mondays, and offers combined tickets with the adjacent Sake Museum.
The outdoor area features a restored human-powered railway cart from the Matsuyama Railway, recognized as part of Japan's Industrial Modernization Heritage.
