Onishi Park, Public park in Oshika, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
Onishi Park is a public park in Shimoinagunoshikamura, Nagano Prefecture, featuring approximately 3,000 cherry trees of various types including Someiyoshino, weeping cherry, yaezakura, and yamazakura varieties. These trees are distributed throughout the grounds and create layers of bloom when they flower in spring.
The cherry trees were originally planted as a memorial to honor victims of a tragic incident in the area. This act of remembrance became the foundation for what the park is today.
The Oshika Cherry Blossom Festival occurs annually in mid-April, drawing visitors to observe the pink and white blossoms against Mount Akaishi.
The park is open around the clock and offers free entry to visitors. Parking spaces accommodate roughly 100 vehicles, making it easy to visit throughout the day or night.
During spring, 3,000 cherry trees create a display of pink and white flowers with Mount Akaishi rising in the background.
