大阪府立住吉高等学校, Public high school in Osaka, Japan.
Osaka Prefectural Sumiyoshi High School is a public high school in Sumiyoshi ward, Osaka. The campus includes several buildings with classrooms, laboratories for science instruction, and outdoor sports facilities.
The school was founded in 1922 during the Taishō era and has since educated generations of students in Osaka. Over the following decades, it developed into a prefectural school with an academic focus.
The school takes its name from Sumiyoshi, the district where it stands, and follows the Japanese academic year that runs from April through March. Students wear uniforms and participate in club activities after lessons, ranging from sports and music to traditional arts.
Access is available through several bus lines and train stations around the Sumiyoshi district. The grounds operate during school hours on weekdays, and visitors should expect a closed campus environment.
As part of the Super Science High School program, students can conduct research projects in collaboration with local universities and research institutions. This opportunity is granted to selected schools across Japan only.
