岩倉城, Mountain fortress in Mima, Japan.
Iwakura Castle stands at an elevation of 111 meters on a river terrace end point, featuring defensive moats and surrounding earthwork formations.
Built during the Kamakura period in 1267, the castle served as a stronghold for the Ogasawara clan before falling to the Chosokabe forces in 1582.
The castle grounds include remnants of six Buddhist temple outposts known as Rokubō, reflecting the integration of religious structures into military architecture.
Visitors can reach the castle site by following road signs from Prefecture Route 12, with the nearest railway station being Kojima Station, 3.4 kilometers away.
The northern section of the castle site contains Shinrakuji Temple, which stands as a remnant of the former northern Buddhist outpost.
