Yahashira Cemetery is a burial ground in Tanaka-shinden, Japan. It features pathways winding through gravestones and traditional grave plots arranged across the grounds.
Planned in 1930 to relieve Tokyo City's shortage of burial plots, the cemetery was sited at Yahashira in 1931 and opened on 1 July 1935 as the first Tokyo City facility to carry the name reien. A charnel house followed in 1937, and the cemetery passed to Tokyo Metropolis in 1943. Lawn graves came in 1961, wall graves in 1991 and a communal burial vault in 2013.
The 105-hectare grounds lie on rolling hills and in a valley, with a 700-metre approach avenue lined with zelkova trees; the main gate opens onto a paved path between hedges. Access is by bus from Yahashira Station on the Keisei Matsudo line to the Yahashira Reien stop, or on foot from Higashi-Matsudo Station. Much of the site is parkland, so allow time to walk between sections.
