Mori no Hall 21 is a music venue in Matsudo with two separate performance spaces of different sizes. The larger hall accommodates approximately 2,000 guests, while the smaller theater holds around 500 people.
The venue opened in 1993 as a modern cultural center for the city. It was part of a larger development project designed to create spaces for arts and public gatherings.
The official name is Matsudo City Cultural Hall; "Mori no Hall 21" is a nickname taken from the adjacent 21st Century Forest and Plaza park. School choirs and amateur orchestras, wind bands and choral groups from schools and citizens' organisations give their concerts here, alongside professional artists. The building also has a Japanese-style room of 30 tatami mats and a reception hall used for wedding banquets.
The venue is easy to reach by public transport, with several railway lines nearby. It's good to allow extra time for walking from the nearest station to the venue.
The official name is Matsudo City Cultural Hall; Mori no Hall 21 is only a nickname. Construction cost about 18.5 billion yen, and the building won a special excellence award at the 1994 Chiba Architecture Competition. The large hall seats 1,955 and has an orchestra pit.
