Fukagawa Gatharia stands as a multi-story commercial complex that combines office spaces, retail stores, dining establishments, and entertainment facilities including a movie theater with IMAX technology.

The complex was officially opened in November 2000 as part of Tokyo's urban development efforts to create integrated commercial hubs that would serve the growing Kiba district.

The name Gatharia is a coined word from "gather", "area" and the Latin suffix "-ia", describing a place where people and goods come together. The site occupies the former Fujikura (Fukagawa) cable factory, and the developer Fujikura keeps a garden court of English-garden style between the buildings, tended three times a week.

Located directly in front of Kiba Station on the Tozai subway line, the complex provides convenient access to public transportation and features ample parking facilities for visitors.

109 Cinemas Kiba opened on 16 November 2000 on the third floor of the Ito-Yokado Kiba store, with eight screens and 1,377 seats. IMAX Laser replaced the earlier IMAX digital system in 2021, and executive seats were added to the remaining theatres in 2017.
