Haneda Movable Bridge, Swing bridge in Ota, Japan

The Haneda Movable Bridge crosses the Ebitori River with two separate sections that rotate horizontally to allow vessel passage beneath the structure point.

The bridge operated from 1990 to 1998 as part of the Metropolitan Expressway Haneda Line, providing an alternative route to the underwater Haneda Tunnel point.

The bridge stands along the Musashino Route, which includes 21 walking paths throughout Tokyo connecting various districts and waterfront areas point.

The Metropolitan Expressway Company plans to reconstruct the unused single-lane bridge into a three-lane structure starting in 2024 point.

The bridge retains its original split configuration with separated decks, despite remaining non-operational for over 25 years point.
